At IMTS 2026, Zoller Inc. used its booth to introduce new automation and micro-tool inspection systems while also presenting a broader manufacturing-efficiency portfolio. The exhibit covered tool presetting, inspection, measuring, shrink fitting, balancing, tooling, tool management, data transfer and automation technologies.

One of the main launches was MicBox, which made its world premiere at the show. Zoller describes the system as a fully automated solution for handling indexable inserts on milling tools, including tool identification, insert indexing, rotation, flipping, replacement and fastening-screw changes. With the optional AI-supported WearCheck function, the system evaluates each cutting edge and decides whether an insert should stay in service, be indexed or be replaced.

In shrink-fit and balancing equipment, the company highlighted PowerShrink, which it says can shrink-fit tools in less than 60 seconds because of its induction-coil design. According to Zoller, that configuration shortens cycle times, helps preserve toolholder life and uses 30% less energy. The display also included ToolBalancer, presented as capable of balancing toolholders, tool assemblies and grinding wheels within 0.4 gram mm.

For tool management, the booth featured live demonstrations of TMS Tool Management Solutions software and storage systems. Zoller also positioned the exhibit as a venue for discussing deployment roadmaps for end-to-end tool management and for sharing implementation practices aimed at connected, transparent and efficient toolroom operations.

Data flow was another key element of the presentation. Zoller said its expanded z.DMI technology enables direct communication with a wide range of CNC machine-tool controls and provides a secure, reliable way to transfer tool data from presetting and measuring machines to numerous CNC brands. The company’s networked ZidCode 4.0 platform adds two-way data exchange between the CNC and the Zoller database to support real-time tool-life monitoring, data transparency and full tool traceability.

Zoller also gave a world premiere to PomBasic MTI, a compact, production-integrated system for inspecting and measuring micro tools. The unit uses a high-resolution micro-camera with coaxial lighting for precise inspection of very small tools. Its zoom lens is specified to capture fine detail across a magnification range from 125x to 1250x.
