QTREX Quantum has announced the installation of its first Additively Manufactured Electronics system at an Israeli aerospace and defense manufacturer whose name has not been disclosed. According to the company’s September 2 statement, the deployment is part of a joint development program. The customer is described as one of Israel’s three largest defense companies and as a major global aerospace and defense manufacturer, but its identity remains confidential under contract obligations.

As outlined by QTREX, the agreement includes exclusivity provisions and describes a potential phased path toward broader AME system rollouts. The company referred to possible aggregate revenue in the tens of millions of dollars, but the currently confirmed step is only the first installation. The available material does not specify how many additional systems might follow, when purchases could occur, or what values would be attached to later phases.

The technology comes from the former Nano Dimension businesses sold in April. QTREX, which was still operating under the name Inspira Technologies when the deal was signed, agreed to the acquisition on April 1 and closed it on April 6. The transaction involved $2 million upfront, with additional payments that could raise the total price to $12.5 million depending on business performance over the following year. The acquired package included intellectual property, proprietary software, equipment, tooling, inventory, customer contracts, accounts receivable, and other related assets.

Among the transferred assets was the DragonFly IV AME platform, designed to print conductive and insulating materials for electronic devices and circuitry. QTREX also acquired Fabrica, Nano Dimension’s micro-additive manufacturing business. Its Fabrica 2.0 systems use a light-based process to make very small polymer and composite parts at micron-level resolution. The source material also notes that Nano Dimension had already discontinued Fabrica before the sale.

From an industrial standpoint, AME is intended to bring the production of complex electronics closer to the user’s own facility, potentially reducing dependence on outside suppliers for some designs. QTREX also said it will work with the customer on materials and processes to adapt the technology to specific engineering and reliability requirements. For now, beyond the installed machine, consumables are presented as another possible revenue stream.

The Israeli defense project adds to a series of updates since the acquisition. In June, QTREX announced a purchase order from a U.S.-based Fortune 500 company for an AME system and materials; later that month, it said an AME system at a large U.S. interconnect manufacturer had moved from development work to the production floor after a validation program. In July, the company also announced an order from an international government-owned company for customized 3D printed radio-frequency components. Even so, the broader business case remains open: the source material itself says this latest defense deployment does not yet prove that QTREX can turn Nano Dimension’s former AM operations into a sustainable business.
