Neura Robotics and Seco have announced a strategic partnership aimed at industrializing and scaling Physical AI from Europe. Under the agreement, the German cognitive robotics company will rely on the Italian embedded electronics manufacturer for the design, engineering and production of compute modules for its robots, including the 4NE1 humanoid.
According to the announcement, the modules will integrate Qualcomm Dragonwing processors and will form part of the broader distributed computing architecture on which Neura is building its product offering. The company describes that architecture as a “Brain + Nervous System” model, pairing a central brain with processing capabilities distributed down to the robot’s joints and sensors. This is tied to what Neura calls Smart Limb, a concept intended to place sensing and compute in each limb so robots can react in real time while working safely alongside people.
Seco’s task is to turn that architecture into hardware that can be manufactured at industrial scale. The Italian company brings embedded computing and industrial manufacturing expertise, complementing Neura’s robotics and Physical AI architecture and Qualcomm Technologies’ edge computing platforms. In practical terms, the partnership marks a move from architecture definition toward production engineering and scale-up.
The agreement goes beyond the components installed inside robots. The two companies also plan to work together in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, using data collected in the field to develop new Physical AI-based automation solutions. The stated goal is to teach machines increasingly complex production processes, convert that knowledge into repeatable automation capabilities and make them available to semiconductor plants worldwide.
This is consistent with Neuraverse, the platform through which Neura distributes capabilities learned in one installation across its wider robot fleet. Among the next steps mentioned is the opening of a Neura Gym in Italy, described as the company’s first training hub in Southern Europe, alongside joint collection of real production data as Neura robots are deployed in industrial settings.
From an industrial policy perspective, the partnership is framed as a contribution to a more resilient European Physical AI supply chain. Neura and Seco argue that Europe already has many of the required elements, including robotics, industrial manufacturing, embedded systems, sensing, automation and advanced research, but that those capabilities need tighter integration. In that context, developing and manufacturing Neura’s compute hardware in Europe is presented as a step toward stronger regional technology sovereignty.
