Software announcements tied to IMTS 2026 point to a broader push toward connected manufacturing workflows, more dependable CNC programming and greater use of automation in engineering and back-office tasks. The suppliers highlighted in the event preview span CAD/CAM, postprocessing, ERP, robotics-related software and enterprise asset management.

OPEN MIND Technologies, exhibiting in Booth E-133351, is set to feature the latest hyperMILL 2026 CAD/CAM suite. The company says the release adds and refines strategies for 2.5D, 3D, precision 5-axis and mill/turn machining, with a focus on faster programming, stronger process reliability and improved surface quality. Among the updates described are enhancements to rest machining for smoother transitions and automatic detection of remaining stock, plus a complete redesign of the 5-axis rest machining strategy for Z-Level, Parallel and Normal approaches. The release also includes optimized 5-axis cutter orientation, improved collision avoidance, updated deburring options for cross holes and internal threads, and a new 2D Hale Machining strategy intended to support mark-free surfaces in sealing directions. OPEN MIND also says right-angle heads can now be programmed in hyperMILL and hyperMILL VIRTUAL Machining with simulation and collision tracking.

ENCY, in Booth E-135750, is framing its IMTS presence around a single environment that combines CAD/CAM, simulation and postprocessing. According to the company, ENCY Hyper now supports projects that include robots from different manufacturers in one environment, allowing users to configure mixed robot cells within one project. The company is positioning the show as a meeting point for OEMs, integrators, dealers and independent software vendors interested in APIs, integrations and joint go-to-market opportunities.

On the ERP side, Global Shop Solutions will present Genii Extract in Booth E-133117. The tool is part of the company’s AI offering embedded in its ERP system. The announced functions include AI-assisted data migration, AP automation for invoice entry and AI sales order entry for customer purchase orders. Global Shop Solutions says the software is intended to reduce manual data cleaning and entry, speed ERP rollout and document processing, and lower the risk of input errors across accounting, sales and operations.

For maintenance and operational reliability, ITBA Solutions will exhibit with the Octave team in Booth N-236353. The company plans to discuss enterprise asset management, asset performance management, ERP and EAM integration, business intelligence and digital transformation initiatives for manufacturers. Its consulting and implementation scope includes Octave Attune EAM and APM, Infor LN ERP, reporting, training and process improvement.

Numerical Control Computer Sciences will use IMTS 2026 to introduce PostWorks Connect in Booth E-135604. The company describes it as a next-generation CNC postprocessing platform built to consolidate machine management and advanced workflow setup in one interface. Reported features include a centralized runtime environment, drag-and-drop handling of multi-axis toolpaths, support for APT-source input, binary CL files and direct CAM conversion formats including Mastercam NCI, along with embedded scripting, HTML-based reports and a MakePost Wizard for configuring machines with Siemens 840D, FANUC, HEIDENHAIN and MAZATROL controls.
